ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Depository Operations Manager to lead and manage SafeGold's DP operations. The ideal candidate should have an in-depth understanding of DP operations, bonds operations, and back-office systems, with the ability to set up, own, and scale DP operations from zero to one. This is a high-ownership role, where you will ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and smooth functioning of depository activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and oversee end-to-end DP operations on a daily basis.
  • Handle client onboarding for Individual, Non-Individual, and NRI clients (Demat & Trading accounts).
  • Supervise daily NSDL-related activities including Pay-in, Pledge, and Un-pledge of securities.
  • Process and validate DIS, Pledge/Unpledge Requests, DRF/RRF with due diligence.
  • Authorize and monitor settlement instructions (On-Market, Off-Market, Inter-Depository).
  • Manage in-warding, scanning, and uploading of client requests and instructions.
  • Ensure timely submission of regulatory reports (Monthly, Quarterly, Half-yearly, Annual) to NSDL and other regulators.
  • Handle account modifications, document verification, grievance reporting, and related compliance.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate MIS reports for management and audit purposes.
  • Lead and manage NSDL inspections, internal audits, and SEBI/regulatory requirements.
  • Resolve client queries related to Depository Operations efficiently and accurately.
  • Stay updated with DP rules, SEBI circulars, and recent regulatory changes.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4-6 years of experience in capital markets, depository operations, and settlements.
  • Strong knowledge of NSDL systems, SEBI regulations, and clearing/settlement cycles.
  • Hands-on experience with DP back-office software, reconciliations, and settlement processes.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities, with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Advanced Excel, and Gmail.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • NISM Series VI – Depository Operations Certification is mandatory.
  • Exposure to Bonds operations will be preferred.
  • Experience using the following DP back office software is a must - DP Secure or Class

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Good to have):

  • Experience in setting up DP operations in a fintech/startup/regulated environment.
  • Strong track record of managing large-scale inspections and regulatory audits.
  • Familiarity with tools like NSDL SPEED-e, KRA & CKYC applications.
