Chemours is seeking a Product Stewardship and Regulatory Specialist, India to join our growing Product Sustainability team. This position will be available at the Chemours India, Gala Impecca, 1st Floor, Opposite Sangam Big Cinema, Andheri Kurla Road, Chakala, Andheri East, Maharashtra

Mumbai – India and report directly to the Asia Pacific Regulatory Compliance Manger.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • You will be responsible for understanding and interpreting aspects of the India Compliance Framework, such as MSIHC [The Manufacture, Storage and Import of Hazardous Chemical Rules, 1989], GHS [Global Harmonized System on Classification and Labelling], food contact and drinking water contact standards, International Conventions and initiatives, including the Stockholm Convention and the Montreal Protocol, and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).

  • You will monitor for emerging or proposed regulations, including the [draft Chemical (Management and Safety) Rules, 20xx)]

  • You will provide regulatory support for selected compliance activities in ASEAN countries

  • You will lead periodic reviews and evaluations to validate compliance of business activities with applicable regulations and ensure that regulatory compliance deadlines and requirements are met

  • You will assist the business with responses to chemical compliance-specific questions (from customers, agencies, and other stakeholders)

  • You will collaborate with the Product Sustainability Team and our different business unit stakeholders to understand their present requirements & future needs, identify opportunities, develop, implement and execute operational objectives and work plans for compliance requirements and related systems.

  • You will monitor, educate on and develop recommendations for regulatory changes, trends and industry positions that impact Chemours products to the relevant stakeholders

  • You will manage product safety data in SAP (evaluation, maintenance, archiving)

  • You will contribute to Global initiatives across the company

  • You will directly engage with the government agencies locally, chemical management agencies and Customs and will represent Chemours strategy in external partnerships

The following is required for this role:

  • Bachelor's degree and up to 5 years' work experience in the chemicals industry

  • Proven product stewardship and regulatory compliance experiences

  • Comprehensive and applied knowledge of country chemical regulatory areas and the competencies of regulatory advocacy

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project planning and management skills

  • Proven decision-making capabilities, with a track record of leading regulatory strategies

  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team and results oriented individual

  • Excellent language skills in Hindi and English languages

  • SAP skills
