Purchase Executive

Job Summary

The Purchase Executive – Civil will be responsible for handling all site-level procurement activities including sourcing, negotiation, vendor management, and timely delivery of construction materials and services. The role ensures material availability as per project schedules while maintaining cost efficiency and compliance with company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, and Stores team to assess daily material requirements.
• Identify, source, and procure materials, tools, and consumables as per project specifications.
• Obtain quotations, prepare comparative statements, and negotiate with vendors for the best prices and delivery terms.
• Issue purchase orders (POs) and follow up with suppliers for timely dispatch and delivery of materials.
• Verify received materials for quality and quantity in coordination with the site store and quality team.
• Maintain and update the material purchase register and ensure accurate ERP entries.
• Develop and maintain vendor databases for civil, electrical, and mechanical materials.
• Coordinate with Accounts for vendor invoice submission and payment follow-ups.
• Ensure compliance with company purchase policies and approval hierarchies.
• Assist in reconciliation of materials and maintain proper documentation for audits.
• Support in logistics coordination for material movement between sites or suppliers.

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering or any related field.
• 8+ years
  of experience in
  construction material procurement
  , preferably at site level.
• Good knowledge of
  civil, mechanical, and electrical construction materials
  .
• Experience in
  site-based procurement
  and coordination with central purchase teams.
• Proficiency in
  ERP software
  , MS Excel, and documentation.

• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent vendor and logistics management.
• Good analytical and record-keeping abilities.
• Knowledge of taxation, billing, and purchase documentation.
• Ability to work independently at site under time constraints.
