About the Role

We are looking for a
Principal/Staff Engineer
to drive technical excellence across our backend systems. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in designing scalable distributed systems, leading technical strategy, and mentoring high-performing teams in a startup environment. You will be instrumental in architecting core platform services that power high-volume transactions, real-time campaign analytics, and integrations with external financial and marketing ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and design highly available, large through-put backend systems using
  Python (Django)
  and
  GoLang
  .
• Lead platform scalability initiatives for high-volume transactional and analytical workloads.
• Define and enforce engineering best practices around code quality, security, testing, and observability.
• Drive the evolution of our platform architecture to support multi-tenant, globally distributed operations.
• Collaborate with product, data, and integrations teams to define and deliver core platform capabilities.
• Evaluate, select, and implement technologies to improve developer productivity and system performance.
• Lead and mentor senior and mid-level engineers through technical design reviews and code walkthroughs.
• Oversee performance, reliability, and failover design for critical payment and campaign processing flows.
• Contribute to roadmap planning and influence product architecture from a systems engineering perspective.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience, including 2+ years in a principal engineering role.
• Proven expertise in
  Python (Django)
  or
  GoLang
  , with experience designing distributed, event-driven architectures.
• Strong understanding of
  payment gateways
  ,
  real-time data pipelines etc
  .
• Deep knowledge of
  RESTful API
  and
  microservices design
  ,
  SQL/NoSQL data modeling
  , and
  message queues
  (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis Streams).
• Experience with
  cloud-native architectures
  on AWS or GCP (ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, etc.).
• Practical experience with
  DevOps practices
  ,
  CI/CD pipelines
  , and
  containerization
  (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Demonstrated ability to balance technical depth with business context in decision-making.
• Prior experience in
  fintech, payments, adtech
  platforms is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership, mentorship, and communication skills.
