Principal Data Scientist (Market Mix Modeling)

Location:
Bangalore

About the Role:

You'll work on high-impact projects, building statistical models, experimentation frameworks, and marketing effectiveness tools. From marketing mix modelling to A/B testing, your work will directly support cross-functional teams in making informed, data-driven decisions.

You'll collaborate with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to develop scalable solutions and translate insights into real-world impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and implement statistical models for customer and marketing analytics.
• Design A/B tests and incrementality frameworks to measure business impact.
• Develop and maintain marketing mix models to evaluate campaign performance.
• Work with large datasets using Python and SQL.
• Communicate insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with technical teams to bring models into production.
• Continuously improve model performance and business integration.
• Working in a global team with a focus on GenAI / LLMs.
• This position is responsible for managing all aspects of project-based analyses including data preparation, analysis design, implementation using appropriate methods & results presentation.
• Leading readouts and review with internal customers.
• Lead discussions with customers to uncover needs, design and deliver analytics solutions. Enable measurement and improved effectiveness of rebates, media spend, pricing and sales force activities leveraging statistics and data science techniques.

Skills & Experience Required:

Must-have:

• 5-6 years of hands-on experience in a Data Science or Analytics role.
• Strong foundation in statistics, hypothesis testing, regression, and experimental design
• Expertise in statistical modelling techniques – A/B testing, regression, clustering, classification, decision trees, forecasting.
• Expertise of probability models, market basket, churn modelling, segmentation and customer analytics.
• Proficiency in Python (pandas, numpy, statsmodels, scikit-learn).
• SQL experience for data wrangling and analysis.
• Experience with marketing analytics and causal inference - Marketing Mix Modeling(MMM) and Attribution Modeling have no secrets for you.
• Advanced skills in R and advanced excel.
• Proven analytical/problem solving skills with strong learning agility.
• Demonstrated excellence in Power Point and storyboarding.
• Experience with Tableau, SQL, Azure ML & Model Deployment and GitHub.
• Project management experience across multiple business functions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Minimum Qualification:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in quantitative or management field. (Master's preferred).
• Experience: 6+ years of experience in Advanced Analytics, Commercial Effectiveness.
