Position Overview:
We are looking for a seasoned Business Development Manager to spearhead our entry into new,high-growth verticals. The primary objective of this role is to diversify our business portfolio by securing projects in various sectors like the Hospitality Sector (Hotels & Resorts), Institutional Clients, Government Contracts, and by supplying to other Nurseries our tissue-cultured plants with the upcoming tissue culture project. The ideal candidate will be an entrepreneurial strategic thinker with a proven track record in hands-on site management, client negotiation, and navigating complex project environments.
Key Responsibilities:
.Communication with existing clients for a smooth business and expansion of existing business
· Strategic Business Development:
· Identify, target, and secure new clients in the defined expansion sectors: Hospitality, Institutions, Government, and Nursery supply chains.
· Develop and execute a robust sales strategy to achieve a significant jump in the company's sales turnover.
· Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities.
· Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking forums.
· Client & Stakeholder Management:
· Lead technical and commercial discussions with architects, project consultants, site authorities, and government officials.
· Build and nurture long-term, strategic relationships with key decision-makers.
· Act as the primary point of contact for new clients, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience.
· Project Liaison & Site Management:
· Leverage hands-on site management experience to understand project requirements, challenges, and deliver practical solutions.
· Coordinate effectively between the client's team (architects, site in-charges) and our internal execution teams (landscape, nursery, lab).
· Conduct site visits to present proposals, address queries, and ensure client satisfaction.
· Proposal & Presentation:
· Prepare and deliver compelling technical and commercial presentations, tailored to the specific needs of each client segment.
· Develop detailed project proposals, cost estimates, and tender documents with precision and clarity.
· Utilize strong computer skills to create professional reports, presentations, and project documentation.
· Market Intelligence:
· Conduct market research to understand competitor activity, pricing trends, and new opportunities in the target sectors.
· Provide feedback to the management on market needs to help refine our service offerings.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· A bachelor's or master's degree in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Forestry.
MBA- in marketing and experience in marketing But Hands on Experience as Horticulturist
· A minimum of 8-12 years of relevant experience, with a significant portion in business development or project management within the landscape, horticulture, construction, or infrastructure development sector.
· Non-negotiable, hands-on experience in site management and a deep understanding of landscape project execution.
· A proven track record of successfully negotiating and dealing with architects, corporate site authorities, and government officials.
· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
· High proficiency in computer skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential. Knowledge of AutoCAD or other design software is a plus.
· Excellent presentation skills, with the confidence to present to senior-level executives.
· Must be willing and inclined to travel 10 to 15 days a month as per business requirements.
