We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people to fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Head of Financials and Headcount Management.Role Purpose:The role-holder has the overall responsibility for the effective leadership and management of the FS&GEC (Finance, Sustainability and Group External Communications) COO (Chief Operating Officer) Financial and Headcount Management team across Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore, the delivery of activities of the team and the interaction with senior stakeholders – FS&GEC leadership team members, their COOs, FS&GEC COO and CAO (Chief Administration Officer).Provide dedicated support to leadership team areas on business management.Costs: FRP (Finance Resource Planning), forecasting, cost reporting consistency, BC/TT (Boundary Changes / Target Transfers), Cost Code management, BFL (Business Framework Levels) management and other admin.Headcounts: workforce planning, hiring review process, job architecture, global roles.Intercompany: service catalogues, GSC (Global Service Centre) recharges, HGMS (HSBC Group Management Services Ltd) recharges, disputes, ITP (Internal Third Party).The role holder will need to: Manage, lead and inspire the team and enable their activities.Evolve the team and its organisational design in alignment with the function's strategic direction.Act as a key point of contact for senior stakeholders in FS&GEC; effectively manage key relationships with senior stakeholders, including FS&GEC leadership team members, their COOs, FS&GEC COO, CAO and others.Represent FS&GEC COO in local and global governance forums, as appropriate.Analyse and review processes, identifying automation and simplification opportunities and drive continuous improvement agenda.End to end process ownership for the Financial and Headcount Management activities in FS&GEC.We encourage diverse profiles to apply for this role to create an inclusive workplace. It enables us to embrace the diversity of backgrounds and perspectives of the employees, which in turn increases their talent, innovation, creativity and contributions.Principal Responsibilities:Business, Customers and Stakeholders:Effectively manage key relationships with senior stakeholders, including FS&GEC leadership team members, their COOs, FS&GEC COO, CAO and others.Demonstrate a robust understanding of all key internal and external stakeholders and their individual requirements.Demonstrate effective relationship management with stakeholders at all levels.Continuously engage and support stakeholders on evolving business and functional requirements.Establish an effective and robust communication channel with multiple stakeholders to ensure timely flow of information and continuous feedback mechanism.Engage with stakeholders through fact-based conversations, building strong relationships and providing challenge, where appropriate.Anticipate and address issues and concerns from stakeholders, resolve them in an effective manner.Leadership & Teamwork:Demonstrate leadership, including the provision of guidance, coaching and timely feedback to improve effectiveness.Support the retention of key talent, and the attracting and developing new talent and skills.Engage with leads and colleagues across all functions and entities to promote consistency and teamwork.Develop and understand existing processes and systems / data flows and the target end-state.Design and enable training on transformation – with a particular focus on developing commercial acumen and business partnering capabilities.Provide an escalation point for the resolution of issues and support the management of workloads to meet business critical deadlines.Requirements:Strategic mindset and experience in leadership positions managing complex requirements from senior stakeholders.Experience of operating in senior governance forums, handling auditors.Experience and/or understanding of FS&GEC as a function.Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate the team's agenda in a simple manner to a global audience.Strong capability in the management, presentation and control of financials, including leading FRP, forecasting, budgeting and similar processes.Strong capability in workforce planning and hiring controls.Proven track record of driving re-engineering, process synergies and technology-based solutions.Ability to work under pressure, report to tight deadlines and deal effectively with issues as they arise.Effective team player, very collaborative, communicates status and issues on a regular basis.Ability to effectively manage the competing views and opinions of multiple senior stakeholders and ensure timely delivery.Strong people skills and a high degree of motivation and commitment.Experience in designing, implementing and validating the effectiveness of process controls.Commercial mindset with strong execution and problem-solving skills.Ability to develop effective working relationships with stakeholders of different seniority and geographical location.Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to frequent and multiple changes.Ability to deal with and analyse unstructured problems and queries and to question and challenge existing procedures.You'll achieve more when you join HSBCHSBC is committed to building a culture where all employees are valued, respected and opinions count.
