Lead Data Scientist

• Digital & Analytics technology to make the solution easy to use, sustain & scale Digilytics is currently developing an AI-enabled product, RevEL, to improve credit lending operations. The product is currently targeted at lenders in the UK and US and will be extended to other markets in the future. We are looking for a data science and python engineering geek, who gets how to research and design AI models and develop & productionise them using python and python-based open source and open weighted models in a cloud technology environment. S/he would have the aspirations and appetite in working in a growing company environment, and with relevant industry experience to make a significant contribution to our platform and products. The role requires a broad range of skills, and we are currently looking for strong communicator with deep experience of data science techniques and python engineering. The role sits within the product engineering team and manages a team of data scientists and python developers to deliver world-class python-based products.

Responsibilities:

• Understand the Digilytics vision and the latest developments in AI and work closely with the product engineering leader to architect and develop python-based applications
• Have hands on experience with Pytorch, Django/ Flask, API development
• Have experience with emerging techniques like Open Weighted LLM+RAG, Agentic AI MCP framework
• Responsible for the design, engineering and productionisation of all data science components of the Digilytics platform, and products like RevEL
• Lead a team of data scientists and python developers and create a high-performance global team across India, UK & US
• Liaise with multiple stakeholders and coordinate with our teams in UK, US and India

Desired Skills:

• Ability to both work in and lead a team and to deliver and accept peer review
• Experience with GenAI techniques, ML, NLP & Computer Vision
• Strong Python programming skills and deep understanding of how to develop scalable python programs deployed in multi-node cloud environments
• Direct experience with deploying machine learning models into live operations through a technology platform
• Test performance of data driven product/models
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate ideas clearly at all levels
• Ability to work in unfamiliar business areas and to use your skills to create solutions

Good to haves:

• Knowledge of emerging techniques for Agentic AI
• Domain knowledge of Financial Services, especially lending

Experience:

• A strong mind set with proven experience working in both smaller and larger organisations having multicultural exposure
• Experience with managing teams of 10-15 resources
• 7-10 years of experience working closely with clients or technology products, and providing recommendations and solutions. Must know how to deploy models.
• Well-developed software skills relevant to data science domain
  • Understanding of computational analysis, search and / or machine learning techniques
• Good Understanding of analytics tools and landscape
  • Domain and industry experience by serving customers in Financial Services
• Proven experience of architecting machine learning pipeline to production
• Experience at various stages of Software-Development Lifecycle

Education Background:

• A Bachelor degree, or higher, in Software Engineering and Computer Science with strong python programming content
• Formal training in related AI technology disciplines and financial services domain would be valued
