As the Lead Platform Engineer at Mastercard, your primary responsibility is to manage databases efficiently to ensure secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure and software deployment for global solutions. You will administer production, pre-production, UAT, and development database systems while collaborating with system engineers, database developers, and other administrators to create a robust, scalable, and high-performance environment. Key Responsibilities: - Contribute to strategic architectural decisions and engineering functions, focusing on Oracle and PostgreSql knowledge - Excel in performance tuning, with deep knowledge of PostgreSql performance tuning, Oracle GoldenGate, and Oracle multi-tenant architecture - Configure, patch, upgrade, and optimize database software, collaborating with development teams, ensuring security, backup/recovery, and more - Set up and troubleshoot PostgreSql database replication, work with technology teams on database technologies, monitor and resolve database issues, and communicate solutions effectively - Handle large projects, promote best practices, train team members, and foster a positive culture within the Database Engineering department Qualifications Required: - Experience in integrating vendor and open-source products, working with cloud-hosted services like AWS and Azure, and familiarity with database technologies such as Cassandra, Redis, and Oracle Exadata Administration - Proficiency in both RDBMS and NoSQL technologies, as well as development with new trends would be advantageous In addition to the above responsibilities and qualifications, you must adhere to Mastercard's security policies, ensure the confidentiality and integrity of accessed information, report any security breaches, and undergo periodic security trainings.,
