The Opportunity

We're seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to own and evolve our core infrastructure as we scale our climate finance, trading and settlement platform. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of climate impact and cutting-edge technology, building systems that channel capital into carbon removal projects and green real-world assets worldwide.

As a key member of our engineering team, you'll have significant autonomy to shape technical decisions that affect global carbon markets.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve our core Elixir/Phoenix service, implementing new features and improvements
  • Work across platform services written in Go, TypeScript, and Java to ensure seamless integration
  • Architect system integrations between services and design robust REST APIs
  • Build and refactor microservices as needed across the platform
  • Contribute to technical design decisions for new services and major refactoring initiatives
  • Implement comprehensive testing strategies and maintain code quality standards
  • Document complex systems and architectural decisions

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong experience with Elixir, OTP, and Phoenix Framework
  • Experience in another backend language (Java, Go, TypeScript)
  • Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
  • Experience with real-time data processing or event-driven architectures
  • Strong REST API design skills
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development practices
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Experience working in remote, distributed teams

Nice to Have

  • Experience with blockchain protocols and cryptocurrency systems
  • Experience handling financial transactions in production systems
  • Prior fintech or institutional trading systems experience
  • Interest in AI with some experience
  • React or frontend development experience
