Role Overview

The Dealer Development Manager (DDM) will be responsible for identifying, appointing, developing, and preparing new dealers in assigned districts of Uttar Pradesh, in line with Ecozens SOPs and business goals. This role is critical in ensuring that new dealers are fully operational, trained, branded, and capable of delivering on performance benchmarks before transitioning to the Sales Team.

The DDM will act as the first point of contact for new dealers during the onboarding phase, ensuring they receive the tools, training, and support required to succeed in selling Ecozens products, including Suryaghar and Solar AC.

Key Responsibilities

1. Dealer Identification & Appointment

  • Identify potential dealer partners district-wise/tehsil-wise, based on Ecozens market expansion strategy.
  • Evaluate dealer prospects against Ecozens eligibility criteria and SOPs.
  • Finalize and execute dealer contracts in accordance with Ecozen norms.
  • Maintain a pipeline of prospective dealers for future expansion needs.

2. Dealer Onboarding & Development

  • Develop newly appointed dealers to achieve monthly benchmark targets before handover to the Sales Team.
  • Provide dealer training on products, sales processes, customer service, and compliance.
  • Oversee dealer branding, showroom setup, staff recruitment, and skill development.
  • Ensure execution of dealer infrastructure as per Ecozen branding and design guidelines.

3. Training & Capability Building

  • Conduct structured training programs for new dealers and their staff.
  • Develop dealer skill-building modules to improve sales capability, customer handling, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to Ecozen's SOPs for customer experience, documentation, and system usage.

4. Dealer Performance Monitoring

  • Conduct regular dealer audits in collaboration with Sales and Central teams.
  • Implement mystery shopping initiatives to assess dealer service quality.
  • Track dealer progress against set benchmarks and take corrective actions where needed.
  • Drive dealer readiness for handover once performance criteria are met.

5. Coordination with Sales & Central Teams

  • Work closely with Sales Teams to ensure smooth dealer handover after achieving 50% benchmark.
  • Act on Sales Team feedback regarding dealer performance and resolve issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with Central Teams on branding, training, technology, and process improvements.

6. Order Execution & Dealer Support

  • Manage end-to-end order execution during the DD process from booking to closure until benchmarks are met.
  • Support dealers in order processing, inventory planning, and customer communication.
  • Ensure timely and accurate system entries and updates.

7. Dealer Incentive & Engagement

  • Design and execute incentive programs based on:

  • Annual sales performance

  • Customer satisfaction index
  • Adherence to Ecozen SOPs
  • Dealer dashboard performance
  • Branding/look & feel compliance
  • Staff training & strength
  • Inventory discipline
  • Timely system updates

  • Monitor Dealer Happiness Index and implement improvement initiatives.

8. Technology & Process Management

  • Drive adoption of Sampark App for dealer interactions, order management, and reporting.
  • Train dealers and their staff on digital tools and ensure compliance.

9. Team Management

  • Hire, train, and manage Dealer Development Executives as per district requirements.
  • Ensure high motivation, productivity, and effectiveness of the DD team.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong experience in dealer/distributor development and channel management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong project management abilities for onboarding and development processes.
  • Analytical mindset for tracking performance metrics and market potential.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and dealer management systems.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in dealer/channel development, preferably in renewable energy, electrical appliances, or consumer durables.
  • Proven track record in dealer onboarding, training, and performance improvement.

Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Number of new dealers appointed as per SOP.
  • Percentage of new dealers achieving 50% benchmark before handover.
  • Dealer Happiness Index improvement.
  • Timely completion of dealer branding, training, and infrastructure setup.
  • Order execution efficiency during DD process.
  • Effective usage and compliance of Sampark App.
