JOB DUTIES

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Manager – Electrical Design specializing in solar power plant design, with a proven track record of ensuring compliance with industry standards and local regulations. Proficient in preparing detailed Electrical BOQs, conducting site assessments, and designing robust electrical infrastructure, including substation systems, cable routing, earthing, and lightning protection.


Key Accountabilities
Duty Statements

Solar Plant Design:

  • Lead electrical engineering efforts in the design and construction of solar power plants.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and local regulations throughout the design and construction phases.

Bill of Quantities (BOQ) Preparation:

  • Generate comprehensive Electrical BOQs for both ground-mounted and rooftop solar plants.

  • Prepare detailed Electrical BOQs for 220kV/400kV Substation, including MMS, ICR, and MCR building, substation electrical layout, transformer bay, and earthing system.

Site Visits and Assessments:

  • Conduct site visits to assess and address electrical layout and grid interconnection challenges.

  • Provide recommendations based on site assessments to ensure the feasibility and reliability of the solar power projects.

Electrical Infrastructure Design:

  • Design and analyze electrical infrastructure for solar power projects.

  • Develop plans for electrical layouts, cable trenching, transformer integration, switchgear configuration, and other essential systems.

Grid and System Integration:

  • Perform electrical system studies for grid compliance and interconnection.

  • Provide recommendations for protection systems, relay settings, and coordination.

Technical Documentation:

  • Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications for electrical engineering aspects of solar power plant projects.

  • Utilize AutoCAD, ETAP, PVsyst, and other design software for accurate and detailed documentation.

Power System Design:

  • Design and validate single-line diagrams (SLDs), load flow diagrams, and panel layouts ensuring compliance with grid standards.

  • Ensure that the electrical systems comply with safety, efficiency, and reliability requirements.

Holistic BOQ Preparation:

  • Create a comprehensive Solar Plant Electrical BOQ encompassing MMS electrical integration, ICR and MCR building systems, substation equipment, transformer connections, lightning protection, and earthing network design.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Years of Experience: 10-15 Years

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

  • Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred

  • Experience: Proven experience in electrical engineering for solar power plant projects
