Role Description

The Circuit & PCB Design Engineer – Drones
will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating electronic circuits and printed circuit boards used in Eldyne's drone systems. The role involves schematic design, layout optimization, component selection, and integration with embedded systems to ensure reliable drone performance. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to prototype, test, and refine electronics for production-grade drone applications.

We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in
    Electronics Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics
    or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience
    in
    circuit design, PCB layout, and hardware development
    .
  • Proficiency in
    PCB design tools
    such as Altium Designer, KiCad, Eagle, or OrCAD.
  • Strong understanding of
    analog and digital circuit design
    , power electronics, and signal integrity.
  • Knowledge of
    microcontrollers, sensors, ESCs, and communication interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN)
    .
  • Experience in
    drone electronics, flight controller design, or embedded system integration
    will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, and validate hardware at both prototype and production levels.
  • Strong documentation skills and familiarity with
    BOM management, DFM/DFT principles
    , and EMI/EMC considerations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and time-management abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electronic circuits and PCB layouts for drone systems and subsystems.
  • Select electronic components and ensure compliance with performance, reliability, and cost objectives.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and embedded teams to integrate electronic modules into drone platforms.
  • Prototype, assemble, and test circuit boards for performance validation and debugging.
  • Conduct simulation and analysis to optimize circuit efficiency and thermal management.
  • Prepare detailed design documentation, schematics, and layout files for production release.
  • Support vendor coordination for PCB fabrication, assembly, and quality inspection.
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues during integration and field testing stages.
  • Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and compliance standards throughout the design process.
  • Continuously research and implement emerging technologies to enhance drone electronics performance.
