Clinical Pharmacy & Community Health Internship

Program Overview

The Clinical Pharmacy & Community Health Internship by Arogyamithra is a practical, field-oriented training program designed for pharmacy and healthcare students, graduates, and healthcare professionals who aspire to work in digital healthcare, public health, and chronic disease management.

Participants can choose to complete the internship online, offline, or in hybrid mode, depending on their convenience and learning goals.

Objectives

  • To gain hands-on experience in Medication Therapy Management (MTM) and Integrated Chronic Disease Management (ICDM) programs.
  • To enhance professional skills in patient concealing, medication review, drug safety, and adherence monitoring.
  • To promote preventive health awareness and screening at the community level.
  • To build leadership and digital competency in telehealth and data-based healthcare delivery.

Key Learning Areas

  • Medication Therapy Management (MTM): Patient concealing and rational drug use. Drug interactions, medication adherence, and ADR monitoring.
  • Community Health & Awareness: Organizing health camps and screening activities. Conducting awareness sessions on lifestyle and preventive care (online or offline).
  • Digital Health Practice: Exposure to teleconsultation systems, e-health records, and digital health tools. Learning to manage patient data using dashboards and mobile health applications.
  • Chronic Disease Management (ICDM):Screening and follow-up for diabetes, hypertension, CKD, and oncology care. Linking patients to affordable treatment and medication support.

Intern Core Responsibilities

  • Enroll patients into Arogyamithra ICDM programs (for diabetes, hypertension, CKD, oncology, and other chronic diseases).
  • Conduct community-level health screening and awareness activities.
  • Promote preventive healthcare awareness through online/offline campaigns.
  • Assist in medication therapy review, drug adherence, and patient counselling.
  • Coordinate with local healthcare providers and Arogyamithra field teams for smooth program execution.

Internship Duration

  • Duration: 90 Days (Flexible based on student/professional availability)
  • Mode: Online / Offline / Hybrid
  • Timing: 2–3 hours per day (Part-time or full-time options available)

Eligibility

  • Pharm.D, B.Pharm, M.Pharm students and graduates
  • Healthcare students (Nursing, Public Health, Allied Health, Life Sciences)
  • Healthcare professionals interested in community and digital health practice

Outcomes & Certification

  • Certificate of Completion from Arogyamithra.
  • Practical experience in community-based clinical pharmacy and digital healthcare.
  • Exposure to real-world patient interaction and health data management.
  • Outstanding interns may be offered advanced training or placement opportunities within Arogyamithra's network.
