Job Description:
Position Overview: The Import Export Planning / Material Planning Manager will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our import-export operations and material planning processes. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a deep understanding of logistics and supply chain management.
Import Export Operations:
Develop and execute import-export strategies to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements.
- Coordinate shipment schedules and manage relationships with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues that may arise.
Material Planning:
Forecast demand for materials and components to support production schedules.
- Collaborate with procurement and production teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production targets while minimizing excess inventory.
Implement inventory control measures and conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy.
Supplier Management:
Identify and onboard reliable suppliers and vendors for materials and logistics services.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and service level agreements.
Resolve supplier performance issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze import-export data and material planning metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on key performance indicators and operational metrics.
Implement data-driven decision-making processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Stay informed about changes in import-export regulations and ensure compliance with trade laws.
- Develop and maintain risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions in the supply chain.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree Engineering in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in import-export operations, material planning, or supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and logistics management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic decisions.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced knowledge of MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
