Job Description:

Position Overview: The Import Export Planning / Material Planning Manager will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our import-export operations and material planning processes. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a deep understanding of logistics and supply chain management.

  1. Import Export Operations:

  2. Develop and execute import-export strategies to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.

  3. Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and customs requirements.
  4. Coordinate shipment schedules and manage relationships with freight forwarders and customs brokers.

  5. Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues that may arise.

  6. Material Planning:

  7. Forecast demand for materials and components to support production schedules.

  8. Collaborate with procurement and production teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
  9. Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production targets while minimizing excess inventory.

  10. Implement inventory control measures and conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy.

  11. Supplier Management:

  12. Identify and onboard reliable suppliers and vendors for materials and logistics services.

  13. Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and service level agreements.

  14. Resolve supplier performance issues and implement corrective actions as needed.

  15. Data Analysis and Reporting:

  16. Analyze import-export data and material planning metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

  17. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on key performance indicators and operational metrics.

  18. Implement data-driven decision-making processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

  19. Compliance and Risk Management:

  20. Stay informed about changes in import-export regulations and ensure compliance with trade laws.

  21. Develop and maintain risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions in the supply chain.
  22. Conduct risk assessments and implement contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree Engineering in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in import-export operations, material planning, or supply chain management.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and logistics management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic decisions.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced knowledge of MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
