Role:

Develop and integrate geospatial modules for satellite/vector data ingestion, spatial feature engineering, and visualization. Lead spatial tasks.

  • Tasks:
  • •  Fetch and preprocess satellite data using Google Earth Engine.
  • •  Download and align Bhuvan shapefiles and SHRUG geometries.
  • •  Extract geospatial features from satellite rasters using OpenCV/Rasterio.
  • •  Build interactive maps/heatmaps using Folium for Streamlit dashboard.
  • •  Support AI/ML Engineer in fusing geospatial features with model inputs; validate alignments.
  • Skills Needed:
  • •  Medium proficiency in Python 3.12 and geospatial libraries (GeoPandas, Rasterio).
  • •  Experience with GIS data formats (GeoTIFF, shapefiles, GeoJSON).
  • •  Basic understanding of satellite imagery (e.g., multispectral bands, CRS like EPSG:4326).
  • •  Familiarity with map visualization; ability to debug spatial joins.
  • •  Collaborative skills for integration with non-geo modules.
  • Tools/Tech:
  • •  Google Earth Engine (GEE) API (Python) for satellite ingestion.
  • •  GeoPandas/Rasterio for vector/raster processing.
  • •  OpenCV for image-based feature extraction.
  • •  Folium/Matplotlib, Streamlit for map visualizations.
  • •  Git/Jupyter for version control/prototyping.
