About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior GIS Data Migration Specialist with strong expertise in FME (Feature Manipulation Engine), FME Server, and Utility Network implementations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering complex GIS data migration projects, particularly within the utilities sector (electric, gas, water, telecom). This role requires advanced technical proficiency, domain knowledge, and the ability to lead migration efforts across diverse GIS platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute GIS data migration projects with a focus on Utility Network implementations.
• Design, build, and optimize FME Desktop and FME Server workspaces/workflows for geospatial data migration, transformation, and automation.
• Utilize FME Flow to manage, schedule, and automate GIS data workflows, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Define and implement data migration strategies from legacy network models to modern ArcGIS Utility Network or equivalent platforms.
• Analyze utility datasets (electric, water, gas, telecom) to ensure accurate schema mapping and topology validation.
• Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and client stakeholders to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
• Maintain data integrity, quality, and performance across migration workflows.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex migration and integration issues.
• Mentor and guide junior team members in FME, GIS data migration, and Utility Network best practices.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all migration workflows, processes, and project deliverables.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5–10 years of experience in GIS, with at least 3+ years hands-on expertise in FME (Desktop & Server).
• Strong experience in Utility Network modeling and migration (ArcGIS Utility Network or equivalent).
• Proven background in GIS data migration and transformation projects within the utilities domain (electric, gas, water, telecom).
• Proficiency in spatial databases (PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, SQL Server Spatial, etc.).
• In-depth understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and geospatial standards (OGC, ISO).
• Strong knowledge of ArcGIS (ESRI suite), QGIS, Smallworld, or other enterprise GIS platforms.
• Experience working with large utility datasets and performance optimization.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
