Functional Expertise

Risk Model Development & Validation

  • Design, develop, and validate credit risk models (PD, LGD, EAD)
  • Excellent hands-on development experience in building A/B/C scorecards
  • Implement model monitoring frameworks and performance tracking systems
  • Conduct model back testing and stress testing exercises
  • Extensive experience in building data pipelines using credit bureau data – preferably Experian and CRIF

Portfolio Risk Management

  • Analyze portfolio performance and risk metrics
  • Develop early warning systems and risk indicators
  • Create vintage analysis and loss forecasting models
  • Monitor concentration risk and portfolio diversification

Data Analytics & Insights

  • Perform advanced statistical analysis and data mining
  • Develop predictive models using machine learning techniques
  • Create comprehensive risk reports and dashboards
  • Conduct segmentation analysis and customer behavioral studies

Analytical Thinking

  • Ability to break down complex business problems into analytical components
  • Design innovative solutions for risk measurement and management challenges
  • Demonstrate strong quantitative reasoning and hypothesis testing skills

Strategic Decision Making

  • Translate analytical insights into actionable business recommendations
  • Support strategic planning with quantitative risk assessments

Innovation & Methodology

  • Research and implement new analytical techniques and methodologies
  • Continuously improve existing models and processes
  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains

Interaction

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Policy, Finance, and Business teams
  • Partner with IT and Data Engineering on infrastructure requirements
  • Collaborate with ERM and Audit teams on regulatory matters

Stakeholder Communication

  • Present complex analytical findings to senior management and board committees
  • Communicate risk insights to nontechnical stakeholders effectively

Prepare executive summaries and management reports

To succeed in the role

Qualification & Experience (type & industry)

  • Graduate/ Postgraduate from a recognized university
  • 5+ years post-qualification in banking or fintech field

Skills & know-how

Programming & Analytics

  • Advanced proficiency in R or Python
  • SQL for data manipulation and analysis
  • Experience with machine learning libraries (scikitlearn, caret, etc.)
  • Knowledge of big data technologies (GCP/Spark)

Statistical & Modeling Expertise

  • Advanced statistics and econometrics
  • Time series analysis and forecasting
  • Survival analysis and credit modeling
  • Machine learning and AI techniques
  • Optimization and simulation methods

Tools & Platforms

  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (Looker/ggplot2)
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) preferred
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
