Principal Associate – Securities Law | Tier 1 Law Firm | Mumbai

Role Highlights:

  • Advise a broad spectrum of intermediaries in the Indian securities market, as well as listed companies and their promoters, on complex regulatory and investor-related issues.
  • Represent clients in contentious matters before the Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT), including cases involving takeover code violations, insider trading, collective investment schemes, and fraudulent and unfair trade practices.
  • Provide strategic counsel on compliance with securities regulations and assist in navigating high-stakes enforcement actions.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies, leveraging prior experience advising SEBI and continuing advisory work with BSE.
  • Lead client relationships while mentoring junior team members and driving knowledge development in securities law practice.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 6–7 years of experience in securities laws, with a strong background in both advisory and contentious mandates.
  • Prior experience representing or advising regulators such as SEBI or stock exchanges is highly desirable.
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills with proven ability to handle high-value, complex matters.
  • Ability to manage client relationships independently while contributing to the growth of the practice.
  • Keen interest in securities litigation and regulatory enforcement with a drive to develop thought leadership in the field.
