About the Role

Hylenr Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Software & License Management Specialist to oversee the organizations software assets, licensing agreements, and compliance requirements. This role is critical in ensuring cost-effective software procurement, optimal license utilization, and strict adherence to vendor and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will have 510 years of hands-on experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), license optimization, and vendor negotiations, with strong knowledge of enterprise software environments across on-premise and cloud platforms. You will collaborate with IT, procurement, finance, and compliance teams to ensure smooth software lifecycle management in industries like defence, aerospace, energy, and advanced technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Software Asset & License Management

  • Manage the complete lifecycle of software assets: procurement, deployment, utilization, renewal, and retirement.

  • Track and monitor software licenses to ensure compliance with vendor agreements.
  • Implement policies and processes for license optimization and cost control.

  • Maintain accurate records of software inventory and entitlements.

  • Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with software licensing terms, audits, and legal requirements.

  • Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external audits.

  • Work with legal, procurement, and compliance teams to mitigate risks of non-compliance.

  • Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Liaise with software vendors for contract negotiations, renewals, and true-ups.

  • Partner with procurement and finance teams for budgeting and forecasting software costs.

  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure timely deployment and patch management.

  • Optimization & Reporting

  • Analyze software usage to identify underutilized licenses and recommend optimizations.

  • Monitor cloud-based SaaS subscriptions (Microsoft 365, Adobe, Autodesk, etc.).
  • Provide dashboards and reports on license consumption, costs, and compliance status to leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in software asset management and license compliance.

  • Strong knowledge of:

  • SAM tools (Flexera, ServiceNow SAM, Snow License Manager, or equivalent).

  • Enterprise software licensing models (Microsoft, Adobe, Autodesk, Oracle, VMware, etc.).

  • SaaS subscription management and cloud licensing.

  • Proven track record in handling software audits, renewals, and vendor compliance.

  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in IT Asset Management (ITAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), or ITIL.
  • Experience in cloud licensing models (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and vendor negotiations.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards (ISO 19770, GDPR, etc.).
  • Prior experience in defence, aerospace, or regulated industries.
