Job Summary
The Automobile Parts Manager is responsible for overseeing the parts department, ensuring the availability of automotive parts and accessories, managing inventory, supervising staff, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and service technicians. The role focuses on efficient operations, cost control, and high levels of customer and internal service satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the parts department
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet service and sales demands
- Order, receive, stock, and price automotive parts and accessories
- Supervise, train, and evaluate parts department staff
- Coordinate with service advisors and technicians to ensure timely parts availability
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Monitor parts sales, margins, and departmental performance
- Control costs, reduce waste, and manage obsolete inventory
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping, invoicing, and inventory audits
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe parts storage area
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special orders professionally
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (automotive or business education preferred)
- Proven experience in automotive parts management or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts, systems, and catalogs
- Excellent organizational and inventory management skills
- Leadership and team management abilities
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in inventory management software and computer systems
- Ability to analyze sales data and manage budgets
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Work Environment
