Job Purpose:
The Server & Virtual Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization's physical and virtual server environments. This role ensures high availability, performance, and compliance of server systems, while coordinating with vendors and internal teams to support infrastructure initiatives and IT operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Physical Server Infrastructure Management:

  • Manage and administer physical server infrastructure, including
    HPE Synergy enclosures, blade, and rack-mountable servers
    .
  • Handle
    server capacity planning
    and requirements gathering.
  • Oversee
    commissioning and decommissioning
    of server hardware.
  • Conduct
    maintenance, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
    to ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Coordinate with
    principle vendors
    for
    RMA (Return Material Authorization)
    processes.
  • Manage
    vendor relationships and escalations
    to ensure service quality.
  • Administer servers hosting
    Windows and RHEL operating systems
    .
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of
    storage systems
    and related components.

Virtual Infrastructure Management:

  • Install, configure, and deploy
    virtualization platform
    s such as
    VMware, Nutanix AHV, and Oracle LV
    M on blade and rack servers
  • .Configure and administer
    virtual network
    s using standard and distributed switches
  • .Ensure
    high availabilit
    y of applications and services within the virtual environment
  • .Manage
    clusters, resource pools, templates, and VM deployment

  • .Perform
    P2V (Physical to Virtual
    ) and
    V2V (Virtual to Virtual
    ) migrations
  • .Conduct
    VM resource capacity plannin
    g and maintain server load balance across clusters and standalone hosts
