Position Title: Manager Function:
Supply Chain/Procurement
Roles and Responsibilities:
As the Material Planning and Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for effectively managing the plant warehouse and overseeing all activities related to material planning, procurement, and logistics to support operational efficiency and cost optimization.
Key responsibilities include:
Housekeeping
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of the warehouse/plant premises.
- Ensure safety standards, proper storage, and smooth material flow in daily operations.
Material Planning
- Plan and manage major raw material requirements in line with production schedules and forecasts.
- Ensure seamless coordination between production, procurement, and logistics teams to maintain inventory at optimal levels.
Inventory Planning and Coordination
- Develop and execute robust inventory planning processes to ensure materials availability and minimize surplus or shortages.
- Monitor stock levels and take proactive measures to manage inventory turnovers efficiently.
Logistics Management
- Manage end-to-end logistics processes, including transportation and distribution of materials, while ensuring timely delivery.
- Optimize supply chain networks to enhance overall performance and cost savings.
Supply Chain Cost and MIS
- Prepare and analyze supply chain cost reports, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
- Provide regular Management Information System (MIS) updates, highlighting key metrics and performance indicators.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual supply chain budgets and monitor adherence to them.
Procurement and Supplier Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of quality materials.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, focusing on cost-effectiveness and reliability.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- 4-8+ years of experience in material planning, logistics, or supply chain management within a manufacturing or plant setup.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management principles.
- Proficiency in supply chain management software and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and provide actionable MIS insights.
