The Superintendent Technical - TSHD role is responsible for overseeing vessel maintenance and ensuring statutory compliance to keep vessels seaworthy and operational. This position involves coordination with various stakeholders and managing technical operations across multiple sites.

  • Vessel Maintenance Management:
    Oversees budgeting, planning, and supervision of scheduled maintenance and dry docking to ensure vessels remain operational and compliant.
  • Emergency and Compliance Oversight:
    Plays a critical role in emergency response to vessel casualties and ensures timely compliance with class and statutory requirements to avoid vessel detention.
  • Stakeholder Coordination:
    Acts as the primary contact for vessels, OEMs, shipyards, port agencies, and internal teams, facilitating technical operations and issue resolution.
  • Resource and Performance Monitoring:
    Manages procurement of services and spares, processes vendor invoices, monitors fuel consumption, and mentors junior technical staff.

Key Accountabilities

  • Budgeting, Planning and supervising scheduled maintenance and dry docking of the vessels.
  • Critical role in Emergency Response Organization responding to any vessel casualty to ensure preservation of life and to maximum extent vessel under crisis conditions
  • Act as primary point of contact for Vessel, OEM, Shipyard, Port Agency, Commercial and Finance Team.
  • Advising corrective action for non-conformities, accidents & hazardous occurrences reported by the vessels under your charge and follow up on non-conformities, in consultation with Head of Section.
  • To ensure time bound compliance of all Class and statutory requirements to prevention of Detention/Arrest of vessels.
  • Manage and mentor junior staff and technical personnel.
  • Timely planning and procurement of all services and spares (Critical or Consumables) considering lead time and budget.
  • Planning vessels maintenance during planned maintenance stoppages.
  • To process the vendor invoices in timely manner. Booking of spares consumption in SMMS / SAP.
  • Monitoring fuel consumption on daily basis and analyzing corrective measure to mitigate any deviation.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
B. TECH yrs. in Marine) / Marine engineer (2-4 yrs.) /MOT Class II / MOT Class I.
