Job Purpose:
The Head - Plant Maintenance oversees the strategic maintenance of the Nacelle & Hub production facilities, ensuring optimal equipment performance, compliance with safety standards, and alignment with production goals. This role manages preventive and predictive maintenance programs, drives equipment reliability improvements, and ensures maintenance activities are integrated within SAP. The Head is responsible for resource management, compliance, and team development within the maintenance function.
Responsibilities
Strategic Maintenance Management
- Develop and implement a strategic maintenance plan for Nacelle & Hub production facilities, focusing on maximizing equipment uptime, optimizing maintenance schedules, and aligning with production goals.
- Oversee the maintenance of all plant assets, including machinery, civil structures, utilities, and supporting infrastructure, ensuring long-term operational reliability.
Preventive and Predictive Maintenance
- Lead the development and execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs, utilizing tools like CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and condition monitoring techniques to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Implement predictive analytics and vibration analysis to anticipate potential equipment failures and take corrective actions proactively.
Resource and Budget Management
- Manage the maintenance budget, including cost forecasting, expenditure control, and optimization of maintenance resources (spares, labor, and tools).
- Allocate resources efficiently, prioritizing maintenance tasks based on criticality and impact on production.
Compliance and Governance
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with corporate governance, regulatory standards, and safety protocols, including adherence to ISO Asset Management) and local statutory requirements.
- Lead internal and external audits of maintenance practices, addressing findings and implementing corrective measures.
Equipment Reliability and Performance Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in equipment reliability, utilizing Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) techniques.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to modify and improve equipment design for enhanced performance.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Management
- Enforce safety standards within the maintenance team, conducting regular safety audits, risk assessments, and implementing corrective actions for identified hazards.
- Develop and maintain safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, and machine guarding to ensure a safe working environment.
SAP Integration and Compliance
- Oversee the integration of maintenance processes within SAP, ensuring accurate data entry, work order management, and compliance with SAP modules specific to maintenance activities.
- Utilize SAP analytics to track maintenance KPIs, such as Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), and drive data-driven decision-making.
Stakeholder Communication and Reporting
- Act as the primary liaison between maintenance, production, and senior management, providing regular updates on maintenance performance, critical issues, and improvement plans.
- Prepare detailed reports on maintenance activities, highlighting key metrics, compliance status, and areas for optimization.
New Projects and Expansion Management
- Lead maintenance input for new projects, including layout design, equipment selection, and installation, ensuring maintenance considerations are integrated into the project lifecycle.
- Oversee the review and finalization of maintenance requirements for new plant expansions or modifications.
Training and Team Development
- Mentor and develop the maintenance team, conducting regular training on advanced maintenance techniques, SAP compliance, and safety protocols.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the maintenance department.

Educational Background
