Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Billing Specialist to join our dynamic finance team, who is proficient in operating Marg software. This role is critical in ensuring accurate billing, maintaining accounts receivable, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the billing process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and SOX standards.
  • Perform account reconciliation and analysis to resolve discrepancies in billing statements.
  • Utilize accounting software Marg for data entry and financial reporting.
  • Handle accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including medical collections and revenue cycle management.
  • Conduct credit analysis, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide exceptional customer service regarding billing inquiries and disputes.
  • Apply negotiation skills to resolve payment issues with clients while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Stay updated on medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-10, and other relevant financial concepts to ensure compliance in billing practices.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management review, utilizing analysis skills to interpret data effectively.

Experience

  • Proven experience in a billing or accounting role, preferably within public accounting or corporate accounting environments.
  • Proficient in financial software applications; experience with Marg is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, account analysis, and revenue cycle management.
  • Excellent math skills with attention to detail for accurate data entry (10 key typing proficiency required).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
