About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Security Engineer with deep expertise in authentication protocols, compliance frameworks, and secure system design. You'll lead the charge in protecting our platform and customer data—working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and legal teams to build scalable, compliant, and secure systems from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement secure authentication and authorization systems, particularly using OAuth 2.0 and JWT standards.
  • Lead penetration testing initiatives (internal and third-party) and vulnerability remediation.
  • Ensure platform-wide encryption standards, including AES-256 at rest and TLS in transit.
  • Champion secure API design, threat modeling, and code reviews for all critical services.
  • Own compliance readiness and controls for PCI DSS, GDPR, and SOC 2 frameworks.
  • Collaborate with DevOps/SRE to enforce infrastructure security (IAM policies, least privilege, secrets management).
  • Manage incident response plans, conduct tabletop exercises, and coordinate postmortems.
  • Mentor junior engineers and establish security best practices across the company.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years in security engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT tokens.
  • Deep knowledge of encryption protocols (AES, RSA, HMAC), certificate management, and secure key storage.
  • Hands-on experience with penetration testing tools (Burp Suite, Metasploit, OWASP ZAP, etc.).
  • Track record of achieving and maintaining compliance with PCI DSS, GDPR, and SOC 2.
  • Fluency in at least one backend language (e.g., Python, Go, Java) and experience with modern CI/CD and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, OSCP, CEH, CCSP, CISA).
  • Experience working in fintech, healthtech, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Contributions to open-source security projects or published CVEs.
