Position Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance operations, ensuring equipment, systems, and facilities are properly maintained to support safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role leads a team of maintenance technicians, coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensures compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead maintenance staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Plan, assign, and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment histories.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and other departments to support production and facility needs.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
  • Assist with budget preparation and monitor maintenance-related expenses.
  • Ensure staff are trained and equipped to work safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree, trade certification, or equivalent preferred.
  • 3–5 years of maintenance experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems (e.g., HVAC, hydraulics, PLCs, or building systems depending on industry).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
  • Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to [insert weight] lbs. and stand, bend, or kneel for extended periods.
