Job Summary:

The Account Assistant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including bookkeeping, data entry, vendor payments, bank reconciliation, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. The role requires accuracy, confidentiality, and timely execution of accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update accounting records in Tally or other accounting software.
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions (sales, purchase, receipts, and payments).
  • Assist in preparation of GST, TDS, and other statutory returns.
  • Perform bank, cash, and ledger reconciliations.
  • Handle vendor and customer invoice entries and maintain proper documentation.
  • Support in monthly closing and finalization of accounts.
  • Coordinate with internal departments for bill processing and approvals.
  • Maintain petty cash and prepare daily/weekly cash reports.
  • Assist in preparing management reports, MIS, and audit support files.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com, M.Com, or related field).
  • 1–3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Proficiency in Tally ERP, Excel, and MS Office.
  • Basic understanding of GST, TDS, and accounting principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in handling bank reconciliations and vendor management.
  • Knowledge of MIS reporting and financial documentation.
  • Familiarity with ERP or accounting software beyond Tally (QuickBooks, Zoho Books, etc.).
