Role & responsibilities

  • Tender & Bid Management

  • Lead the preparation of tenders, proposals, and bids for large-scale building and infrastructure projects.

  • Review contract documents, drawings, and specifications to identify scope, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure timely submission of competitive bids with accurate cost breakdowns.

  • Estimation & Cost Control

  • Oversee preparation of detailed cost estimates for civil, structural, architectural, MEP, and finishing works.

  • Approve rate analysis for materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Implement cost control measures and value engineering strategies to optimize project profitability.

  • Leadership & Team Management

  • Manage and mentor the tendering and estimation team, ensuring high-quality deliverables.

  • Coordinate with project managers, procurement, and finance teams for alignment on budgets and bids.
  • Build strong vendor and subcontractor networks for reliable pricing and partnerships.

  • Strategic Planning

  • Analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and pricing benchmarks.

  • Provide inputs to senior management on bid/no-bid decisions.
  • Support business development teams with technical and commercial insights.

  • Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and government authorities for tender clarifications.

  • Represent the company in pre-bid meetings, negotiations, and presentations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to enhance business opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelors/master's degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • 20+ years of experience in tendering and estimation, with at least 15+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in handling large-scale building/infrastructure projects (residential, commercial, industrial, or public works).
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts (FIDIC, EPC, Design & Build).
  • Expertise in estimation software (e.g., Candy/CCS, Primavera, MS Excel, AutoCAD).
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
