Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

A Masters degree in Engineering Management or similar will be an added advantage.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Head for our SMT (Surface Mount Technology) operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the engineering processes, driving quality improvement initiatives, optimizing production, and maintaining equipment for maximum efficiency and uptime.

  1. Product Quality Improvement:

Lead initiatives to improve product quality by utilizing tools such as:

  • 4M Analysis (Man, Machine, Method, and Material)
  • Why-Why Analysis
  • Kaizen (Continuous improvement)
  • Poka-Yoke (Mistake-proofing)
  • Quality Control Circles (QCC)
  • 6S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety)
  • Production Optimization:
  • Implement system and cycle time studies to optimize production.

  • Line balancing for increased production efficiency through TPS (Toyota Production System) activities.

  • Root Cause Analysis & Troubleshooting:

  • Conduct root cause analysis of production issues and lead troubleshooting efforts to minimize defects and improve product reliability.

  • Preventive Maintenance Management:

  • Ensure that all equipment follows a preventive maintenance (PM) schedule and that the PM procedures are strictly adhered to, avoiding equipment breakdowns.

  • Production Monitoring:

  • Monitor daily production defects, droppage, and scrap to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to production standards.

  • Expertise in PANASONIC Equipment:

  • Proficiency with PANASONIC CM602 and NPM Mounter systems, including their operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

  • SMT Equipment Knowledge:

  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with the installation, operation, and maintenance of SMT equipment, including:

  • Jutze AOI (Automated Optical Inspection)
  • Reflow ovens
  • Router machines
  • Downtime Monitoring & Line Performance:

  • Monitor and improve production line performance, ensuring minimal downtime and continuous workflow.

  • Program Development:

  • Develop new programs for:

  • Pick and Place machines (PANASONIC CM602 & NPM-D3)
  • SPI, AOI, and Router machines

Experience:

Minimum 8-10 years of experience in SMT or electronic manufacturing services.

Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing SMT production lines.

Expertise in quality improvement processes, root cause analysis, and equipment maintenance in SMT operations.

Hands-on experience with PANASONIC SMT machines and other industry-standard SMT equipment.

Prior experience in driving lean manufacturing initiatives, preferably with TPS principles.

Excellent leadership and team management abilities.

Deep understanding of manufacturing best practices and quality control methodologies.

Proficiency in production performance monitoring and minimizing downtime.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
