Job Title: Application Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Application Engineer to join our team. This role involves providing technical expertise in laser technology, supporting customer applications, conducting demonstrations, and ensuring smooth implementation of laser welding and cutting solutions. The ideal candidate should have experience in a sheet metal manufacturing environment and a strong ability to work independently in a customer-facing role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a subject matter expert in laser technologies including the operation of laser machines.
  • Conduct customer demonstrations and create samples to showcase and find correct laser and beam delivery product combination for customer requirement.
  • Analyze customer parts, create application programs, and recommend design modifications to optimize compatibility with laser processing.
  • Work closely with designers to develop customized fixture solutions for customer parts.
  • Generate time estimates, recommend appropriate laser products, and produce sample parts for evaluation.
  • Conduct operator training and on-site support to help customers optimize their production processes.
  • Support new customers during the startup phase, ensuring a seamless transition into full-scale production.
Qualifications & Skills

  • Educational Background: Degree in Mechanical, Production, or related engineering field.

  • Experience: Previous experience in a sheet metal manufacturing environment, preferably with programming and operating production equipment.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in solid modelling software (AutoCAD preferred).
    • Deep knowledge in metallurgy and laser processing applications.
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
    • Understanding of G & M codes and basic machine operation processes is a plus.
    • Proficiency in programming a robot integrated systems.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective customer interaction.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Strong organizational skills to maintain a structured physical and digital workspace.
