Position Overview

The Robotics Team Lead Engineer will be responsible for leading the design, integration, and commissioning of industrial robotic systems. This role requires strong technical expertise in robotic automation, hands-on experience with leading robot platforms, and the ability to mentor and guide a team of robotics engineers. The ideal candidate will play a key role in executing high-impact automation projects across industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, installation, and commissioning of automation projects involving industrial robots and Travelling is mandatory on project basis.
  • Work hands-on with major robotic platforms such as Fanuc, ABB, Yaskawa, and KUKA.
  • Simulate and validate robotic movements using tools like Roboguide, MotoSim, KUKA Sim, etc.
  • Interface and integrate robots with PLCs, CNCs, vision systems, and other peripherals.
  • Prepare and review Interface Control Documents (ICD) for I/O mapping and communication protocols.
  • Select appropriate robot models based on payload, reach, and application requirements.
  • Develop technical documentation including robot functional analysis, operating manuals, and compliance reports.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise junior robotics engineers throughout project execution.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality, safety, and timeline standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, and software engineering teams.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in industrial robotics and automation.
  • Proven experience in commissioning and troubleshooting robotic systems in manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency in programming robotic arms (e.g., TP programming, KRL, RAPID, INFORM).
  • Strong knowledge of robot safety standards and system integration best practices.
  • Experience working with automation tools, sensors, and vision systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites for installation and support.

Preferred (Not Mandatory)

  • OEM training certifications from Fanuc, ABB, Yaskawa, or KUKA.
  • Certification in Functional Safety (e.g., TV SD).
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 solutions and digital twin technologies.
