Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in Azure cloud technologies, data integration, and Facilities Engineering Data Services. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in Oil & Gas data environments, product development, and Agile methodologies while demonstrating strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Technical Skills

Data Engineering

  • Extensive experience with Azure Suite (Azure Data Factory, Databricks), cloud migrations, and on-premises to cloud transitions.
  • Strong Python programming skills.
  • Proficient in ETL tools and data modeling.
  • Expertise in data stewardship, governance, quality, and profiling.
  • Skilled in reporting and analytics tools.
  • Experience in automation using DevOps (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Integration of diverse data sources, including REST APIs, Data Lakes, and SQL Databases.
  • Proven experience in Oil & Gas data integration, including large-scale data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).

Facilities Engineering Data Services & Workflows

  • Experience with Functional Testing and Unit Testing of data pipelines and models.
  • Implementation of Data Quality Rules, including defect tracking and resolution.
  • Proficient in Tag Aliasing, Entity Resolution, and managing Entity Relationships.
  • Experience with Tag-to-Document Associations and familiarity with Information Management coding taxonomies (e.g., CFIHOS).
  • Skilled in generating Data Quality Reports and performing Data Augmentation to enrich engineering datasets.
  • Experience with Facilities Engineering Tag Scraping from technical documents.
  • Skilled in building API connectors to integrate engineering data sources.

Product Development

  • Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Orchestrate data pipelines and implement data quality checks and testing.
  • Experience using Agile development methodologies.
  • Lead requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment of data solutions.
  • Proficient in Data Analytics to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience providing technical coaching and mentoring to junior data engineers.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Business Owners, Analysts, Product Owners, Data Scientists, and Schedulers.
  • Capable of leading development teams during Sprint ceremonies and Agile execution.

  • Document business and data requirements, prepare design documents, and conduct impact analysis.
