Data Center Engineer

Support Data Center operations and Project Delivery.

  • Maintaining hardware for multiple Cisco products around the world, (Webex, Umbrella etc)
  • Following a strict RFC process (change request process) for all work carried out
  • Sticking to SLA's for P1/P2/P3/P4 level tickets in Jira ticket system
  • Proactively monitor Jira ticket system / Teams break fix room for new incidents and prioritize

accordingly.

  • Maintaining multiple hardware platforms including Cisco / Super micro /Juniper / Netapp / EMC etc.
  • Prioritizing and managing several open issues at a time.
  • Ensuring up to date Asset / power management using Sunbird DCtrack and PowerIQ
  • Technical Troubleshooting
  • Working with CIESCM team to maintain stock of spares at our warehouse sites (UK/USA) for out

of warranty hardware break fix

  • Working with 3rd part COLO providers to arrange inbound and outbound deliveries of

replacement parts

  • Working with 3rd part COLO providers to arrange remote hands work e.g. Dimm replacement,

drive replacement, network troubleshooting etc.

  • Arranging site visits for vendor engineers to work on hardware
  • Managing Hig level DC operational projects
  • Managing project delivery across multiple platforms
  • Travel to other sites globally for operatrional and project deployments
  • Site ownership
  • Mentoring and training of other team members.
