Job Details

Job Description:

  • SQL Server installation, configuration, and database maintenance
  • Database design, index strategies, and stored procedures. Skills in writing, debugging and optimizing T-SQL queries and scripts
  • Knowledge of database backup strategies, recovery models, disaster recovery planning and tools, RPO/RTO requirements.
  • Database migration and upgrade strategies.
  • Understand of SQL server file storage, transaction log, resource usage, capacity planning.
  • Experience with Always-on Availability group, windows clustering, failover group, SQL replication, change data capture (CDC), log shipping.
  • Query performance optimization, analyze execution plan and use extended event, query store and third party tools for performance troubleshooting.
  • Database security and compliance: Manage user and group role-based access, transparent data encryption (TDE), Always Encrypted, server and database audits, data masking, Microsoft Defender for Azure SQL.
  • Use SSIS for data integration, work with developers to troubleshoot data flow and import/export issues
  • Use SSRS for building and managing reports.
  • Experience with Extended Events, Query Store, performance metrics, and monitoring tools (e.g., LogicMonitor, Azure Monitor, Dynatrace).
  • Automate database tasks using PowerShell, other scripting languages, Azure CLI or automation tools
  • Knowledge of and experience with Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance and SQL Server on Azure VMs
