Overview: The Middleware Admin plays a crucial role in managing and supporting the organization's middleware infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and communication between various systems. This role is essential in maintaining the stability, performance, and security of the middleware environment, which directly impacts business operations and user experience.Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and maintain middleware applications and servers
  • Monitor and optimize system performance and resource utilization
  • Implement and oversee middleware security protocols and access controls
  • Collaborate with development teams to facilitate application integration
  • Conduct troubleshooting and problem resolution for middleware-related issues
  • Manage middleware backups, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions
  • Create and maintain documentation for middleware configurations and procedures
  • Assist in capacity planning and scalability initiatives for middleware infrastructure
  • Participate in regular patch management and upgrade activities
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and end users
  • Automate routine tasks and processes using scripting and automation tools
  • Perform periodic security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of middleware components
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in middleware technologies
  • Collaborate with vendors for issue resolution and product enhancements
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in middleware administration and support
  • Strong understanding of middleware technologies such as IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, or JBoss
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems
  • Experience in scripting languages like Bash, Python, or PowerShell
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL, etc.)
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex middleware issues
  • Familiarity with automation and orchestration tools like Ansible or Puppet
  • Certifications in middleware platforms or relevant technologies is a plus
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience in implementing and managing middleware security controls
  • Ability to work independently and provide on-call support when necessary
  • Understanding of ITIL framework and best practices
