AMS Finance Lead

Purpose of the Role

The AMS Finance Lead will oversee the delivery of ongoing support and strategic enhancements for Workday Financials customers post-deployment. This role combines hands-on configuration expertise, client advisory capabilities, and team leadership. The AMS Finance Lead will ensure successful customer outcomes, foster long-term relationships, and lead a small team of consultants delivering high-quality AMS services.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for AMS Workday Financials customers.
• Lead and manage a team of AMS consultants delivering post-production support and improvements.
• Guide customers through issue resolution, enhancement requests, and optimization opportunities.
• Conduct client sessions to provide recommendations on functional solutions, design improvements, and best practices.
• Troubleshoot issues, lead testing efforts, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Provide training, mentoring, and skill development support to junior team members.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across time zones to deliver consistent, efficient support.
• Contribute to internal projects and AMS practice development initiatives.
• Maintain a high level of engagement and productivity.
• Any other duties that may reasonably be assigned from time to time.

Necessary Experience

• 2–5+ years of experience working with Workday Financials in a consulting or internal support capacity.
• Hands-on configuration expertise in at least two of the following areas:
  • Customer Contracts
  • Customer Accounts
  • Projects and Project Billing
  • Banking and Settlements
  • Financial Accounting
  • Business Assets
  • Procurement
  • Supplier Accounts
  • Expenses
  • Strategic Sourcing
  • Adaptive Planning or Accounting Centre
• Experience supporting global clients and working in a collaborative, cross-cultural environment.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related technical field.

Desirable Experience

• Finance-related academic background (Bachelor's or equivalent).
• Workday Financials Certification (Pro or Services track).
• Experience leading small teams or acting as a mentor.
• Completion of at least one full-cycle Workday Financials implementation.

• Strong functional consulting skills with the ability to advise clients on process and system optimization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong presentation and workshop facilitation abilities.
• Proven problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Desirable Skills/Competencies

• Ability to influence and engage clients at multiple levels.
• Comfort working in fast-paced, remote, and international environments.
• Exposure to project management or service delivery models in SaaS environments.
