Role Description

The Manager – Business Development is responsible for driving growth, ensuring operational excellence, and spearheading expansion. This includes identifying high-potential locations, finalizing properties, working with vendors to build centers as per Bluebook standards, and
launching every new center with a comprehensive plan
that ensures smooth operations and strong admissions momentum from day one.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Development & Expansion

  • Identify
    high-potential locations
    for new preschools & daycare centers.
  • Conduct feasibility and catchment studies to validate demand.
  • Identify and finalize
    properties
    that align with brand guidelines (visibility, accessibility, demographics).
  • Negotiate with landlords and property owners to secure favorable terms.

2. Centre Setup & Vendor Management

  • Liaise with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to build centers as per
    Ambience Manual.
  • Ensure cost, quality, and timeline adherence for every preschool project.
  • Evaluate and empanel reliable vendors for construction, interiors, and branding requirements.

3. Launch & Growth

  • Develop and execute a detailed launch plan for every new centre
    , covering pre-launch marketing, admissions campaigns, community outreach, staffing, and opening events.
  • Ensure a strong start by building admissions funnel before the center opens.
  • Drive brand visibility and parent engagement from day one.

4. Centre Performance Management

  • Monitor and enhance center performance across enrolments, retention, revenue, and parent satisfaction.
  • Implement growth strategies for underperforming centers and replicate best practices from high-performing ones.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure brand, operational, and academic standards are upheld.

5. People & Leadership

  • Mentor and support Centre Heads and coordinate with Academic Operations Managers.
  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and demonstrate hunger to achieve business goals.
  • Conduct training on sales counselling, parent engagement, and business development.

6. Financial & Operational Accountability

  • Ensure centre-level profitability while safeguarding quality.
  • Manage budgets and monitor cost efficiency.
  • Present MIS reports on admissions, revenue, and expansion updates to senior leadership.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate / MBA (preferred) with 6–10 years of experience in business development, retail expansion, or education sector.
  • Proven track record of
    location scouting, property negotiation, vendor management, and center launches
    .
  • Experience in preschool / education / retail / service industry is highly desirable.
