Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Costing Engineer located in the Pune/Pimpri-Chinchwad Area. The Costing Engineer will be responsible for analyzing and estimating the costs of manufacturing processes, materials, and labor. This role involves preparing detailed cost breakdowns, collaborating with various departments to gather necessary information, and developing cost-saving strategies. The position requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work closely with engineering, production, and procurement teams to ensure accurate cost estimations and efficient project execution.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimations for fabricated components, welding fixtures, clamps, and automation products.
- Analyze engineering drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical specifications to derive material and process costs.
- Work closely with the design, production, and procurement teams to validate cost inputs.
- Evaluate supplier quotations and compare with in-house manufacturing costs.
- Develop standard costing models for repeat products and new product introductions.
- Monitor actual production costs vs. estimated costs and identify deviations.
- Support sales team with timely quotations for domestic and export customers.
- Maintain costing databases, including raw material rates, machining rates, welding hours, and overhead costs.
- Provide insights for cost optimization, process improvements, and value engineering.
- Ensure compliance with company profitability and pricing strategies.
