Job Purpose

Lead technical initiatives in the development, integration, and validation of surface haptic technologies, driving innovation and excellence in haptic user experiences for next-generation products. Serve as the central engineering authority for assigned projects, providing oversight from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end engineering process for surface haptic systems, including planning, design, prototyping, validation, and manufacturing support.

• Coordinate cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, firmware/software, manufacturing, and user experience) to enable robust and scalable haptic solutions.

• Own the architecture and integration of haptic actuators into product surfaces—ensure compliance with performance, reliability, safety, and cost targets.

• Perform or supervise detailed system modeling, simulation, and analysis to optimize actuator performance and tactile feedback.

• Define and manage system specifications, requirements, and documentation including design reviews, build reports, and test protocols for qualification.

• Drive and resolve system-level problem solving—including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and design for manufacturability and test.

• Collaborate closely with vendors and factory teams during prototyping, builds, and industrialization phases—may include travel for on-site integration and support.

• Mentor and guide junior engineers; review and approve technical deliverables

Essential Qualifications

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical

Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechatronics

• 6–8 years of progressive experience in touch screen development, with significant expertise in surface haptics for consumer electronics, automotive, or similar applications

• Specialized knowledge in touch screen actuator technologies (electrostatic), haptic rendering algorithms, and tactile

experience design

• Strong hands-on skills in modeling and simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink, FEA, or equivalent), embedded systems, and data analysis.

• Solid understanding of analog/digital electronics, embedded programming (C/C++, Python), and product integration best practices.

• Proven ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and interface with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain partners.

• Excellent communication skills for technical reporting and cross-team collaboration.

Desired Skills/Attributes

• Knowledge of industry standards in product safety, testing, and certification relevant to

haptics and surface technologies.

• Background in failure mode analysis, reliability engineering, and test automation.

• Innovation mindset, with a strong problem-solving and analytical approach.

• Experience leading on-site integration at suppliers'/factories' locations is a plus.

• Prior IP generation or contributions to patents in haptics are an advantage.

Additional Information

• This role may require occasional travel to support prototyping, testing, or manufacturing builds, including international sites.
