Manager / Senior Manager - Operations

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Operations Leadership:
- Develop and execute the operational strategy aligned with business goals, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and quality.
- Oversee all manufacturing functionsproduction, maintenance, quality, supply chain, and logistics—ensuring seamless integration and performance.
- Drive annual operational planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to meet production and financial targets.
2. Production & Efficiency Management:
- Ensure production meets or exceeds targets in volume, quality, cost, and on-time delivery (OTIF).
- Optimize plant layout, workflow, and capacity utilization to maximize throughput and reduce bottlenecks.
- Implement advanced manufacturing practices and technologies to enhance productivity and product consistency.
3. Quality, Compliance & Safety Governance:
- Uphold the highest standards of product quality and compliance with industry certifications (e.g., CertiPUR-US, flammability standards).
- Foster a proactive safety culture, ensuring 100% adherence to OSHA and internal safety protocols.
- Lead quality assurance initiatives and oversee root cause analysis for defect reduction.
4. Cost Management & Financial Oversight:
- Manage the plant P&L, controlling operational costs—labor, materials, overhead, and maintenance.
- Identify and implement cost-saving projects without compromising quality or safety.
- Monitor key financial and operational KPIs, presenting performance insights to senior leadership.
5. Team Leadership & Organizational Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team, including production managers, supervisors, and support functions.
- Drive a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Oversee talent management—recruitment, training, performance reviews, and succession planning.
6. Supply Chain & Inventory Optimization:
- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials (foams, fabrics, springs, adhesives).
- Optimize inventory levels, reduce waste, and improve inventory turnover through lean principles.
- Strengthen vendor and supplier relationships for quality and cost efficiency.
7. Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement:
- Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and other operational excellence frameworks.
- Lead cross-functional projects to improve OEE, reduce cycle times, and enhance process reliability.
- Drive digitalization and automation initiatives to modernize operations.
8. Reporting & Stakeholder Management:
- Prepare and present detailed operational reviews, performance dashboards, and strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Ensure transparency in communication across departments and with leadership.
- Represent operations in business reviews, audits, and customer/partner interactions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Production); MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 8–12 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 8 years in a leadership role within mattress, furniture, upholstery, or related consumer durable industries.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale manufacturing facilities with P&L responsibility.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma Black Belt / Master Black Belt is highly desirable.
Technical & Functional Skills:
- Expert knowledge of mattress manufacturing processes, technologies, and industry trends.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, and P&L management.
- Proficiency in ERP/SAP systems, data analytics, and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
In-depth understanding of quality management systems, safety standards, and statutory compliance
