Job Description:

People & Culture

•Champion a strong EHS culture, following all rules/regulations and actively searching for hazards to reduce the potential risks

•Approve timecards, overtime hours, time off requests, and attendance records

•Manage crew sizes and skills needed, balancing agility and budget while ensuring effective training, on-boarding and development within the department

•Coach and teach your team members to be proficient in their roles

•Develop a positive working environment through teamwork, diversity and inclusion activity, and recognition of positive behavior

•Ensure effective communication and collaboration with functional teams (like Maintenance and Quality) to improve production efficiency

Standardize

•Ensure all safety and quality checklists are completed as scheduled

•Champion 5S in the area

•Prioritize problem solving/response/actions required for all safety, quality, OEE issues according to direction from leadership

•Champion and audit usage of standard work within the area

•Ensure high accuracy of all relevant transactions in production systems.

•Coordinates operating activities so that products are manufactured to schedule, within quality standards, and meets standard cost.

•Audit or lead Tier 1 meetings for consistency, clarity and connectivity

Improve

•Use performance data to drive decisions and actions leading to performance improvement within area

•Provide your teams the appropriate time and resources to support the problem investigation and solving

•Lead or participate (varies by plant) in the weekly TPM meeting and resulting actions in area, working in partnership with maintenance to improve machine performance

•Cooperates with Operations Leader and the Plant LVSs to understand strategy and be responsible to execute appropriate actions

•Support and drive 3M Ex systems and ideal behaviours with coaching to assist in achieving department

•Embrace technology such as data automation, digital tier, Dozuki and new processes to improve operational efficiency

Key Shared Accountabilities

•Coordinate with Plant Leadership regarding implementation of operations execution model (3MEx), Value Stream Improvement Planning (VSIP), standard work systems, best practices, etc. (senior role)

•Collaborate with maintenance to ensure preventative maintenance tasks are completed

•Work closely with other area Group Leaders to balance site priorities

•Promote and develop kaizen hoppers and ensure workshop outputs are driven and delivered

Qualification:

BE Mechanical, 5-7 years of exp in Production role.

•Ability to communicate up and down the plant organization

•InsideOut Coaching methodology

•Lean knowledge including PDCA problem solving
