Research & Development Chemist (Household Fire Extinguishing Aerosol Product)Location: Bengaluru**Company Description103 Solutions (part of dotAB Studio) is a Research & Development wing that formulates novel fire, air, and chemical safety solutions.Brought together by a novel approach to chemistry and design, our goal is to target broad mass use applications in phased manner.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time role for a Research and Development Chemist for Fire Safety invention that brings a new product.The R&D Chemist will be responsible for conducting research and development (R&D) activities, performing laboratory experiments, and developing new formulations for Fire Extinguishing - handling inside lab reaponaibilties for a new product development.The role also involves quality control to ensure that formulations meet required standards and specifications for compliance.A few familiar Day-to-day tasks include conducting analytical tests, recording and analyzing data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.**What's You'll OwnFormulation Development - Producing a multiclass fire safety solution using our currentdirection - ba- lance pH, viscosity, and surface tension for a water‑based, salt system.Prototype builds - pr epare small batches hand‑crimpping 20‑50 test cans with chosen valve/propellant.Stability & compatibility tests - ac celerated aging, salt‑spray, container corrosion, droplet‑size analysis.Scale‑up liaison - wo rk with process engineers at a Peenya contract filler to finalise can, valve and propellant specs.Regulatory prep - co llate data for UL pre‑compliance and BIS IS 15683 submission; draft TDS & SDS (GHS format).Documentation - ma intain lab notebook, BOM and cost sheets to keep landed cost within decided limits per unit.Must-Have Skills & ExperienceM.Sc. / PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or1 - 6 yrs hands‑on formulating water‑based or aerosol products (deodorants, insect sprays, surface cleaners, etc.).Practical knowledge of surfactants, corrosion inhibitors & propellants (LPG, DME, HFC‑134a).Comfortable with lab equipment: viscometer, tensiometer, rheometer, spray‑pattern analysis, basic GC/FT‑IR.Able to translate lab results into clear Excel/Google Sheets data and concise reports.Nice‑to‑HavesExperience with fire‑suppression foams or wet‑chemical extinguishers .Exposure to IS 15683 / UL 711 type‑testing or SDS drafting.Network inside IISc labs, UL Solutions, or Peenya aerosol fillers.Publications or patents on surfactant or alkali‑salt chemistry.**What We OfferCompensation: Salary plus equityDirec- t impact: you'll see your formula demoed in live areas within weeks, not years.Acces- s to UL labs, maker‑space facilities, and seasoned mentors from Beyond Carlton & FSAI.Steps to Apply -Use the LinkedIn Apply option**Alternatively, you could email us atwith:CV (max 2 pages) highlighting aerosol or surfactant work.One‑page action plan : how you'd optimise our base blend in the first 30 days (include equipment you'd need).Optional: link to a publication, patent, or 2‑min video explaining a formulation challenge you solved.First application review closes in 14 days.Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a 30‑min technical chat followed by a lab exercise at aur facility.**
