ROLE OBJECTIVE

The Metrology Lead will be responsible for managing and advancing all dimensional measurement and inspection activities. This role requires expertise in GD&T and metrology systems, ensuring that critical components meet design and quality standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the Metrology function, ensuring accurate measurement, calibration, and reporting of all parts.
  • Plan measurement activities based on machine and equipment availability to meet customer timeline.
  • Develop and validate measurement programs for CMM and VMM.
  • Perform hands-on inspection and programming of CMM, VMM, and CT (Computed Tomography) systems.
  • Interpret and apply GD&T principles to drawings, fixtures, and inspection methods.
  • Ensure compliance with RSO (Radiation Safety Officer) standards and maintain certifications for CT operations.
  • Provide analytical insights and root cause analysis for dimensional issues, trends, and process capability studies.
  • Support new product development and process engineering teams with measurement expertise.
  • Train and mentor metrology team members on GD&T, CMM/VMM programming, and CT scanning techniques.
  • Maintain calibration records and ensure adherence to ISO/industry standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in measurement systems and methodologies.

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE

  • BE/ B.Tech (Electronic, Mechanical)
  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred
  • Should be RSO certified

CRITICAL EXPERIENCE

  • At least 10 years of work experience in measurement and inspection Lab.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T.
  • Skilled in CMM and VMM programming and operation.
  • Hands-on experience in CT scanning.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of quality standards like ISO 17025, IATF 16949.
