Purchase Executive/Engineer

Job Summary:

Preet Brothers Ltd. is seeking a dynamic and experienced Purchase Engineer - Projects to oversee end-to-end procurement activities from indent validation to post-purchase handover. The ideal candidate should have Extensive years of experience in procurement within a manufacturing setup, with a background in mechanical engineering and a thorough understanding of techno-commercial evaluations and vendor management.

Key Responsibilities:

· Indent Validation: Verify material requests and ensure accuracy before processing.

· Requirement Consolidation: Aggregate purchase needs across departments to streamline procurement.

· Vendor Identification & RFQ: Identify potential vendors, initiate Requests for Quotation (RFQs), and analyze responses.

· Techno-Commercial Review: Assess technical and commercial aspects of vendor offers for compliance and value.

· Comparison List (CL) Preparation: Prepare detailed comparison sheets evaluating cost, quality, and delivery timelines.

· CL Approval & Documentation: Obtain internal approvals and manage documentation in line with procurement policies.

· CL Transfer to Post-Purchase: Handover finalized purchase decisions for execution and follow-up.

· Vendor Development: Develop and nurture supplier relationships, including onboarding new vendors.

· Negotiation & Cost Optimization: Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effectiveness.

· Coordination: Liaise with production, inventory, and quality teams to align procurement with operational needs.

· Compliance & Record-Keeping: Maintain procurement records and ensure compliance with internal audit requirements.

· Market Monitoring: Stay updated on material trends, costs, and supplier innovations.

Qualifications & Skills:

· Education: Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

· Experience: 4–8 years in purchase/procurement roles within a manufacturing/engineering setup.

· Knowledge: Familiarity with mechanical components, fabrication items, raw materials, and industrial procurement norms.

· Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office tools.

· Core Skills:

o Vendor evaluation and management expertise

Working Conditions:

· Office-based role with regular coordination on the shop floor.

· Occasional travel for vendor development, audits, and supplier visits.
