₹2,00,000 - ₹8,00,000 a year As a Consultant – Planning & Merchandising, you will partner with leading fashion and retail brands to strengthen their planning, buying, and merchandising strategies. This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy solving business problems, optimizing inventory performance, and improving end-to-end merchandising efficiency. You will work at the intersection of data, product, and business, contributing directly to strategic decision-making for some of the most innovative retail organizations. In this position, you will be part of a dynamic team that thrives on collaboration, rapid execution, and customer-centric thinking. Your work will involve understanding client requirements, implementing technology-enabled merchandising solutions, and shaping process improvements that drive measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities Client Implementation & Solution Delivery Lead the complete implementation lifecycle of the organization's merchandising and planning platform for assigned clients—requirements gathering, configuration, testing, training, and go-live. Diagnose operational bottlenecks and recommend data-backed process or system enhancements to elevate planning accuracy, buying decisions, and inventory control. Translate client business objectives into actionable merchandising workflows using the product's capabilities. Client Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration Own regular communication with client teams through check-ins, business reviews, and performance discussions to maintain alignment and ensure successful system adoption. Build trusted advisory relationships with merchandising heads, planners, buyers, and cross-functional leadership at client organizations. Partner closely with the product and engineering teams to escalate issues, share feedback, and ensure continuous improvement of product features. Support change management activities by helping clients integrate new planning methodologies, analytical dashboards, and process automation. Analysis & Continuous Improvement Analyze sales, stock, OTB, pricing, and regional performance metrics to uncover insights that guide client merchandising decisions. Contribute to enhancing platform performance by sharing industry trends, user behavior insights, and practical recommendations for optimization. Create structured reports, presentations, and dashboards that effectively communicate findings and strategic recommendations.
Requirements 2–4 years of hands-on experience in planning, buying, or merchandising within retail—preferably fashion or lifestyle categories. Strong analytical mindset with solid mathematical abilities and proficiency in translating data into business actions. Proven experience collaborating with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong presentation and client-facing capabilities. Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint; exposure to planning tools or merchandising systems is a plus. High ownership, assertiveness, and the ability to thrive under pressure and tight timelines.
