Job Summary:

The Junior Merchandiser will be responsible for assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of merchandising activities across retail stores, e-commerce platforms, and production teams. This role involves analysing sales performance, managing inventory and stock movements, supporting vendor communication, coordinating production timelines, and ensuring the timely availability of products as per seasonal and departmental targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales & Stock Analysis


• Prepare and maintain department-wise store stock and sales reports.


• Generate daily reports on Stock Targets vs Sales for each store and cluster.


• Track and analyse style-wise performance (FSN) for 30, 60, and 90 days, highlighting top and slow movers.


• Prepare reports on offer-wise and promo-wise sales, including stock and quantity details.


• Analyse store-wise and department-wise sales performance, identifying growth opportunities.


• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly Master Merchandising Reports.


• Conduct aging and non-moving stock analysis, and suggest redistribution or markdown actions.


• Support stock shuffling (store-to-store transfers) to optimize inventory.


• Generate vendor-wise and designer-wise sales performance reports.


• Track returns and analyse reasons for sales return quantities.

  1. Planning & Target Setting


• Assist in setting monthly stock and sales targets for each store based on overall sales goals.


• Participate in Open-to-Buy (OTB) and seasonal assortment planning for departments.


• Plan new style additions and maintain updated product performance tracking with style images.


• Support next season collection planning in alignment with business and design objectives.

  1. Product & Fabric Coordination


• Coordinate fabric orders based on sales trends and production needs (e.g., Cigarette Pants).


• Raise and manage fabric purchase orders for vendors.


• Follow up with printing and embroidery vendors on mock-ups, swatches, and sample approvals.


• Communicate tech packs to vendors and ensure timely development.


• Coordinate with trims vendors for sourcing new requirements.

  1. E-commerce & Digital Merchandising


• Manage stock availability and order fulfilment for Shopify and other e-commerce platforms.


• Ensure accurate product listing and data maintenance across platforms.


• Reconcile stock differences between warehouse and online inventory.


• Coordinate with warehouse teams on order management and stock transfers for online channels.


• Update e-commerce teams on new arrivals and product readiness for photoshoots.

  1. Visual Merchandising & Photoshoots


• Plan and coordinate photoshoots for new styles, ensuring stock availability.


• Work closely with the Visual Merchandising (VM) team to ensure store displays align with new launches and seasonal themes.


• Prepare New Arrival Presentations (PPTs) for stores and internal teams.

  1. Reporting & Documentation


• Maintain detailed records of warehouse-to-store stock transfers.


• Generate ratio reports (fabric, colour, size, MRP) on a monthly and quarterly basis.


• Update and track T&A (Time & Action) sheets for ongoing production.


• Compile performance summaries and reports for management review.
