Job Title:

SERVICENOW APP ENGINE DEVELOPER

Location: Remote

Experience Required:

Minimum 4 years of hands-on development experience on the ServiceNow platform, with at least 3 years in App Engine and custom application development.

Certifications Required:

● ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) – Mandatory

● ServiceNow Certified Application Developer – Mandatory

● ServiceNow App Engine Studio Micro-Certification

● ITIL v4 Foundation

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced ServiceNow App Engine Developer who will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying custom applications on the ServiceNow platform using App Engine Studio. The ideal candidate should have strong development skills across UI, server-side scripting, data modeling, and integrations, along with a proven track record of delivering scalable and maintainable custom applications for business workflows.

Key Responsibilities:1. Custom App Development

● Build custom applications on the Now Platform using App Engine Studio and Scoped Application Framework

● Configure data models, forms, lists, UI policies, business rules, client scripts, and Flow Designer flows

● Implement reusable components and complex UI elements using Service Portal or Next Experience (UI Builder)

2. Solution Design & Requirement Analysis

● Engage with stakeholders to understand and gather business requirements

● Translate functional requirements into technical specifications and application design

● Build scalable and maintainable applications following ServiceNow development best practices

3. Integration & Automation

● Integrate applications with third-party systems using IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP APIs, JDBC, or MID Server

● Automate business processes using Flow Designer, Script Includes, and Scheduled Jobs

4. Testing & Deployment

● Develop and execute unit tests, debug and resolve defects

● Manage application versioning and promote between environments using Update Sets or App Repository

5. Documentation & Support

● Create technical documentation, release notes, and support guides

● Provide L3 support for deployed custom applications and enhancements

Skills & Qualifications:

● Strong expertise in ServiceNow App Engine, Scoped Apps, App Engine Studio, and Custom Tables

● Proficient in JavaScript, Glide API, Flow Designer, UI Builder, and Scripted APIs

● Experience building Service Portal widgets and working with UI/UX components

● Good understanding of ACLs, security rules, and platform performance tuning

● Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum-based delivery

● Ability to interact with business and technical stakeholders confidently

Nice to Have:

● Experience with Domain Separation and multi-instance architecture

● Familiarity with CI/CD, ATF, and DevOps practices on the ServiceNow platform

● Knowledge of data security, encryption, and compliance considerations
