Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Manager Tender (Mining) to lead the preparation and submission of tenders for mining and MDO (Mine Developer & Operator) projects. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in mine project costing, tender documentation, equipment selection, and a sound understanding of mining operations. This role will be based in Chennai and will play a crucial role in the companys business acquisition and project bidding strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare comprehensive tender documents, technical and commercial proposals for mining and MDO projects.
  • Carry out detailed mine project costing, including cost estimation for equipment, manpower, materials, and operational expenses.
  • Analyze tender documents (RFQs, RFPs, BOQs, etc.) and ensure compliance with all client requirements.
  • Liaise with internal departments (engineering, operations, procurement, legal) to gather inputs and validate proposal data.
  • Evaluate and propose the optimal fleet mix and mining equipment requirement based on project scope and production targets.
  • Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for equipment specs, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain a database of cost benchmarks, vendor rates, and historical tender data for accuracy in estimations.
  • Present cost models, risk analysis, and pricing strategies to senior management for final approvals.
  • Support post-bid clarifications and negotiations with clients when required.
  • Track industry trends, tender opportunities, and competitor bidding strategies.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. MBA is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in the mining sector, with a strong focus on tendering and costing.
  • Proven experience in MDO project tenders, mining equipment planning, and commercial bid preparation.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in project costing and documentation.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, and familiar with ERP or tender management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
